Cooking … I made these bars (lies, I asked Hannah to make them for me) as a good protein source. I’m planning to whip up some more to have as a yummy snack for our birth team during brother’s arrival.
Making … More like what I’m planning/hoping/wishing to make. I have some sweet boy flannel to make a few burp clothes and I really want to start a cloth napkin stock for when we move. I ordered a serger from Costco as my self-chosen push present and really need to open her up and read the instructions. All in good time. All in good time.
Working on …
- LLL leadership – so. much. writing.
- Finishing my Hypnobabies study – why, oh why, is it so hard to find the time for this?
- Packing our birth bag
- Narrowing down the perfect boy name
- Prepping for the most fabulous yard sale this weekend! It is hosted by a retirement center and the vintage goodies are just waiting for me, I know it!
Reading … I’ve been sorting through a pile of old magazines and I’m going to start reading Free-Range Kids.
Listening to … Moonrise Lullaby which was a giveaway win from Anktangle a few weeks ago. I love having this CD one as our daily background music, super calming. Just what I need these days!
Cooking … In Jem’s case, it is more like what is she eating :) Last night for dinner, girlfriend chowed down an entire piece of fish (probably at least 5 ounces) with a mountain of sliced grapes. This usually means she won’t eat a whole lot today and I was right. She nibbled on cereal and applesauce today and that’s about it!
Making … Beautiful drawing masterpieces. She’s my little artist.
Working on … Loving her brother. We’ve been talking more and more about the baby in mama’s tummy and she has started lifting my shirt to kiss and zibbert her bro. We also set up our Arm’s Reach co-sleeper (seriously, a must-have) and have been putting Jem’s baby doll to sleep every nap and bedtime so she can get used to a little person hanging in bed with us. She’s been really sweet and gently, whispering “shhhh” and giving baby lots of kisses. Jem – you’ve already earned a Big Sister of the Year in my book!
Reading … Green Start board books. Aunt Kiki bought these for Jem as a baby shower gift (which was seriously eons ago!) and Jemma is totally into them right now. Especially the animal one. She also hearts her Elmo book and Peek-a-Baby.
Listening to … whatever I listen too. So, Moonrise Lullaby right now. She is also obsessed with Caillou, so the “Cai, Cai” theme song is probably ranking #1 on Jemma’s Chart of Fabulous Music.

I was also a winner in the Moonrise Lullaby giveaway. LO LOVED the calming music, as it Grandma and Grandpa who also felt like "resting" while it was playing.

Did you use hypnobabies for your first birth? Just wondering if it helps. I had a natural birth center birth with my daughter two years ago and we semi used the bradley method, but I'm really interested in hypnobabies for my next birth.

I didn't use it with Jemma – we did Bradley the first time around too. I've really enjoyed Hypno this time around. I think Bradley focuses on alot of the head knowledge needed for a successful birth and Hypno takes it to an emotional level which has been great for me!

I've been impressed with her skills lately! She continues to scribble, but this week we added circles into the mix of lines :)
