Life Lately

If you haven’t downloaded the Beautiful Mess app for iPhone, your picture life is not living to the fullest. I’m mildly obsessed. I mean … here’s a peek at what it can do. Lovin’ it!
I attended a favorite things party last week. You take 4 of your favorite items, $6 or less, and when you arrive everyone writes down their name and puts it in a bucket. Then, you go around and draw 4 names, not your own, and present your favorite things gift to that person! So … you give 4 of the same, but leave with 4 different surprises. I gave Method soap in yummy scents and washi tape. I went home with a ROC face wash, Mary Kay Satin Lips, Rook card game and a Starbuck’s card. It was the most fun party – I totally want to host my own!
I asked on Instagram and learned that these are called alliums or decorative onions – I love them!
The lessons I teach are slowly sinking in.
My baby sis is engaged!!! Wedding will be this November most likely!
I forced Hannah to try on my wedding dress :)
My Mother’s Day present from my mom, because yes, she is that awesome and bought me a gift on Mother’s Day.
Hannah is living with us until she gets married. This means 1) I have a live-in bestie 2) I can run a quick errand sans children on a semi-regular basis 3) I just acquired access to a bazillion awesome headbands
This is the first non-scribble drawing Jemma ever made. The jagged lines are teeth! My kid is brilliant!
BABY FACE!
You can barely see them, but I bought these purple pants when I was super pregnant with Max, hoping they would fit someday. AND THEY DO. Miracles! Oh, and Dominic thought Max looked way too hip for his own good. He would have preferred Nikes with a polo and plaid shorts, but no. I dressed Max for church so chambray, colored skinnies and moccs it is!
Yay – someone was stoked for the Kid’s Cabin in our Great Wolf Lodge room. I mean, she never smiles for the camera.
I wish sleeping at church was acceptable for all ages. It’s so peaceful there.

Thrifted cloud crib sheet – score!
What? I actually completed a project on my artsy fartsy to do list? Why yes I did. Pat self on back.
Yours truly, out on the sound

I realize i'm weeks late to this post, but how did you do the sugar shaker? is that the top of a salt jar/box thing?

  6. ThatMamaGretchen says

Yes! It's the top of a Morton's salt thing … I just cut it off with a razor blade leaving a small lip. That fits perfectly over a wide mouth mason jar and keeps it on real sturdy! Decorate with washi and add the mason jar ring. Done! I'm planning to make another as soon as I finish up another salt :)

LOVE it! I'll definitely be doing that. Making play-dough is a good way to go through salt. ;)
