July GoalsWeek 1Week 2Week 3

Create one new craft from start to finish
No new crafts this week. But, here are the wool longies I made during Week 3. I entered them in the county fair and won Best of Class and a 1st place ribbon!
Pre-plan meals for every day I work
  • Chinese Take-Out: General Tso Chicken and Sweet and Sour Pork
  • German Pancake with apple and brie
  • Chicken Caesar Salads
  • Cheese Quesadillas with avocado, sour cream and homemade black bean salsa —>
Black Bean Salsa
2 15 oz cans of black beans (drained and rinsed)
1 15 oz can of corn (drained)
3 cloves of garlic
1/2 c. lime juice
1/2 c. EVOO
1 1/2 tsp cumin
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 tsp pepper
1/2 c. chopped italian parsley
1/2 c. cilantro
1 chopped red pepper
1 small chopped red onion
Two walks each week as a family
We did a ton of walking at the beach, around town and in the sand :)
Finish one book during the month
This goal sure evolved. Anne got scrapped and I sped through Hunger Games and Catching Fire. I’m on to the third book today and am loving it!
Sorry sorry to have bored you all with the details of my July goals. It really helped to have some accountability and I’ll probably do this in the future too. Although, I’m taking a break during August. A girl can only have so many goals at once :)

I've been wanting to read Hunger Games for a while now!! I've heard so many great things about it!

Congrats on your Fair win!! Did you use a pattern? I really want to make some for the girls but need a really, really easy pattern (meaning I have only knitted things in the shape of squares up until now).
