Have You Tried Moodivator?

This post was developed in partnership with Pfizer as part of an Influencer Activation for Influence Central.

It would take all my fingers and toes to name people I love and admire who struggle with depression. It’s prevalent. It’s common. And it’s something that, with help, can be managed.

My loved ones who battle depression are heroes. Depression is a fight they battle every day, one I don’t know, but one I see them carry on through. They get out of bed when they don’t want to, they go to work, they eat, they smile, they seek help, they do everything they need to do even when every part of them says it’s better to stay in bed. They’re strong and their persevering hearts are admirable.

It’s no surprise that I know so many who have in the past or currently experience depressive episodes – 1 in 15 American adults do each year. Which brings me to Moodivator, a new, free app for iPhone users from Pfizer.

Moodivator is a  tool that can help address depression. It’s not a one way ticket to health and it’s not a cure, but it can complement talk therapy, medication, and peer support to play a role in helping to manage depression.

The Moodivator app allows individuals to set goals, track their mood, and create progress reports. Our phones are practically glued to us these days so it only makes sense to put them to work in a positive way! See the Moodivator app in action here

A few years ago a survey discovered that 70% of patients being treated for a mental health disorder were interested in using an app to help track their mental health. Pfizer listened and created the Moodivator app in partnership with psychiatrists who hoped to give their patients a tool to find motivation, hope, and resources while living with depression.

Moodivator allows those experiencing depression to take an active role in managing their mental health. It isn’t easy living with depression, but simple things that encourage routine, self-evaluation, and most of all, hope, can help.

One of my favorite things about Moodivator is that boost of hope. When you’re active in Moodivator encouraging quotes pop up throughout the app. This week I was encouraged by these particular ones, they’re gold!

“From small beginnings, come great things.” -Proverb

“It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop.” -Confucius, philosopher

“Set your goals high enough to inspire you and low enough to encourage you.” -Anonymous

If you’re dealing with depression try out Moodivator. It’s free and a great supplement to a mental health wellness plan!

The Moodivator app is not a treatment for depression and does not take the place of your doctor’s care or advice. This app also includes information about a prescription treatment option for depression.
