I’m part of a Yahoo! group specific for the moms who have babies at Andaluz. It has been such a great resource for product reviews, ailments and everything else mama/baby related.
I started an e-mail folder for things I think I might need to know down the road (kind of vague, but you know those e-mails you just can’t delete …). I figured I should post them here to pass on the good advice and have a consolidated place for future reference.
What to do in the case of a yeast diaper rash …
If it’s yeast, try some warm baths with vinegar and baking soda. The vinegar will change the pH balance making it impossible for the yeast to survive. The baking soda will be soothing and softening on the skin. Make sure you wash his diapers, pants, towels, bedding etc and use vinegar in the fabric softener cup to kill off yeast too! Should get rid of it within 2 days and he should feel relief within a day. Very natural, most people have it on hand and very effective!
Thanks Mama Audrey for the helpful hint!
What other remedies have you used for a yeast or other type of diaper rash?
