For Jemma’s dedication we chose a special verse for her. We thought it would be a sweet gift from us. Something she could memorize when she grows older. Something she can tuck away in her heart and to remember the special day we dedicated our family to the Lord.
We chose Esther 4:14 …
For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?”
Bottom line, Esther rose to a position of influence not knowing exactly why she had been given the opportunity. God had big plans for her and because she was obedient she saved an entire nation. Esther was placed in her role “for such a time as this”.
It is our prayer that Jemma fulfills the role God has planned for her. We didn’t know she was coming at this time in our life. What we do believe is that her birth was in God’s bigger and better plan for our family. He knew she needed to be born in 2010, not a year or two from now. It is wonderful to think about the great plans God has for our little girl. Jemma was born for such a time as this and I know she will be used mightily to serve the Lord and those around her.
