For a long time I was mega scared to sip on green smoothies. They were just so … green!!! It’s like, I wanted to be healthy and love them, but green liquids felt borderline sketchy.
But, one day while visiting a friend in Seattle, she introduced offered to blend me up her famous Green Monster Smoothie as a snack. Everything Chelsie has ever made for me has been delicious, so I said, yes! Of course, her green smoothie was amazing! Thanks to her, I’ve officially crossed the bridge in to green smoothie love land! With a dash of sweetness and a thick, but smooth consistency, the Green Monster Smoothie is truly one I look forward to sipping on! Thanks a million, Chelsie, for expanding my taste buds!
- 1 banana
- 3/4 cup coconut cream
- 1 dropper full of liquid vanilla stevia
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds
- 2 big handfuls of greens, spinach or Costco's power green blend
- 4-5 ice cubes
- Add all the ingredients to a high powered blender and blend until smooth. Add a splash of water if it needs to be thinned up.
This is the stevia Chelsie uses, so it’s the one I ordered too. Same with the coconut cream, she said this will pretty much make or break your recipe and once you get the Aroy-D brand, you’ll never go back. I found mine at a little Asian market for $3.50 or so, but Amazon has it too.
On the look out for other green smoothie recipes? Here are two I’m planning to give a try soon … Green Zing Smoothie and The Easiest Green Juice.
