I also took the plunge into non-chemical, organic deodorant – no zinc, no corn starch. It’s been on my mind for awhile … to wean off the chemical laden deodorant stick I’ve had as a part of my daily routine for years and I’ve finally done it. I’m 2 weeks into using organic lavender deodorant and I couldn’t be happier. It smells great, has smoothed my underarm skin considerably and has done its deodorizing job better than I expected. I had read that it takes your body a few weeks to regulate and at times I do notice my underarms being slightly stickier than before, but saying goodbye to antiperspirant was much easier than I thought. Yay for a successful step in transitioning one of my staple beauty products into a healthier option!
Is Your Beauty Routine Organic?
Have you started reading ingredient labels on your food? What about your beauty products? Perhaps you’re trying to make better choices by purchasing products with an ingredient list you can pronounce? I know I am! For me, it has been a slow transition, letting go of my favorite parabens and fake scents, but I’m committed to making changes for the betterment of my family and I’m happy to report that I’ve been finding some new, fabulous favorites!
Most recently, I’ve been immersing myself in the natural goodness of Honey Bee Holistics. And when I say “immersing” I mean, I’ve got it everywhere, doing everything in my beauty routine. First up, the most divine clay mask I’ve ever tried. I love the into bitty exfoliating bits (I’m sure there is a more technical term for that) and the soothing scent of cedarwood and ylang ylang. My pores felt tight and fresh afterwards. Absolutely love and recommend the glaciomarine clay face mask.
I’ve also given organic rosemary conditioner hair rinse a spin (HBH has a blend for blondes too!) and I got my sweets on with organic sugar cookie lotion (so so so thick + creamy!) and organic mint chocolate chip soap. Love them all!
Melissa is the amazing Northwest mama behind Honey Bee Holistics and as she welcomed motherhood she began her transition to a more natural lifestyle. Since 2007 she has worked to master fabulous alternatives to every day beauty products and she has skillfully created some new favorites of mine. I love my HBH products and I’m sure you will too!
Most recently, Honey Bee Holistics has been accepted in the FedEx Small Business Big Grant Contest. The grand prize is $25,000 and you can vote every day through 2/23. Please give Melissa your love with a vote by clicking here … there is no signing up or extra anything, just a simple click :)
Then, browse her shop, read her blog and most of all, take a peek at the ingredient and material lists – you’ll be able to pronounce and identify it all. Perfect for you and those you love the most.
Excited to give Honey Bee Holistics products a try? Melissa is giving away one of everything I mentioned above! That’s right … a clay face mask (in your choice of skin type), organic lavender deodorant, hair rinse (in your hair color), small organic sugar cookie lotion and a sample of organic soap! Enter below …
Don’t forget to vote and in case you’re curious, this is next on my HBH wish list and every new mama should ask for one of these!
