Jammies for St. Nicholas Day

Last night my littles set out their shoes for St. Nick’s check in … the 6th is his special day, you know. I wrote a bit about the history and meaning behind St. Nicholas Day over at Baby Gizmo and am so excited to be starting this new tradition with the kids.
We explained to Jemma that she’s been such a nice little girl and that means she may just wake up to a small present tucked into her shoes! Well, technically we told her she has been such a good listener lately – that’s the virtue we’ve been working on the most lately :) She, of course, wanted to know if Max was also a good listener and expecting a treat in his shoes as well. And yes, Max is in on the deal too.
We’re putting a twist on the traditional gift of sweets that St. Nicholas usually leaves. We’re gifting cozy, winter pajamas! I always feel silly buying jammies that have Christmas prints and can only be worn for a short season, so, instead of Christmas pajamas on Christmas Eve (the tradition I grew up with) we’ll be giving Jemma + Max winter warm pajamas every St. Nicholas Day. That way they’ll get plenty of wear out of their new pajamas through the holidays and beyond. Brilliant, huh?
For the inaugural year of our St. Nicholas Day tradition Kickee Pants was kind enough to sponsor Jemma + Max’s new jammies. Kickee Pants is my very top kid’s clothing brand – the only one that I ever splurge on. The luxuriously soft bamboo fabric and darling prints are just scrumptious. I always love to snuggle my babies, but especially when they’re wearing Kickee Pants!

Kickee Pants come in sizes from newborn to 6 years and many of the prints are gender neutral which is perfect for sisters who need to pass down the favorite pajamas to their little brothers :)

Of course, there are darling ruffles and handsome prints if that’s what you’re looking for too! Pretty much, Kickee Pants has something for everyone!

Do you celebrate St. Nicholas Day? What about Christmas/holiday/winter pajamas as a gift – how does those fit into your traditions?
