Update: 25 before 25

In early September I became a bit overzealous and created a 25 before 25 list. This was before a baby, plans to return to work and all that comes along with the busy life of a wife/mama.
I make no promises I will accomplish even 1/2 of these things, but in an attempt to try, here is an update … pink is “in progress”, green is “completed”, black is “not started”.
  1. Host my own photo shoot of our baby for their monthly birthday – doing well here, month 1, month 2 and month 3
  2. Write my birth storycross my heart, hope to die IT IS ALMOST DONE
  3. Re-start the Recipe Project of 2010no such luck here, but I did receive a subscription to Clean Eats for Christmas, so that might jump start this one
  4. Find a new TV series to watch via NetflixJemma and I have thoroughly enjoyed Veronica Mars, we only have a few episodes of season 3 left
  5. Learn how to can fruit next summer
  6. Plan our first “family of 3” road tripJemma is officially in the “I hate car rides” phase, so we’ll see if this happens
  7. Visit Crater Lakewhere did I come up with this one?
  8. Read a “just for fun” bookI am eating up parenting books, but have nothing on the radar that falls into “fun” … any recommendations?
  9. Paint a piece of furniture
  10. Go to a fitness (yoga, pilates, etc.) class
  11. Find a new favorite place in our hometown
  12. Sew my own version of Baby Legsthis might happen this coming weekend!
  13. Finish framing and hanging pictures at our new housethe downstairs is done, but I have some pictures ready to hang upstairs, just need to schedule a date with my husband to get it done!
  14. Make homemade biscottimy real-life friend, Debra, is an amazing cook and passed on a biscotti recipe to me, I just need to plan a time to make it! You can read her fabulous food blog here :)
  15. Become more diligent in my daily devotionsI subscribe to a great devotional, Streams in the Desert, which pops into my email each morning
  16. Clean the garage … enough to park in itwe did it yesterday, hope it stays that way :)
  17. Read 12 Hours by 12 Weeks with Dominic and sleep train our babyread it, then decided it wasn’t quite for us, great info though and a worthwhile read for all parents
  18. Host my first blog giveaway – we gave away a Woombie and have many more lovely reviews/giveaways on the way
  19. Begin tracking our family’s geneologyhopped onto My Heritage and got a great start on this
  20. Pack a Christmas box through Operation Christmas Childwe managed to pack 2, one for a 2-4 year old girl and another for a 12-14 year old girl
  21. Decorate my front porch with a large potted plant
  22. Cut our grocery budget by 10%during my maternity leave we’ve cut it by even more! Now I’m anxious to see how much more we can save in 2011, anything extra goes straight to that pesky student loan.
  23. Buy a family-size car … without credit or a loanDONE!
  24. Sacrifice something for the betterment of my familyI gave up my iPhone for a Pantech something-or-other. It was crap, so I went back to the iPhone which I adore. So I would say I have given up sleep. It betters my family since Jem is cared for in the wee hours of the night and Dominic gets sleep so he can make it through the day at work.
  25. Be the best wife and mama I can be!trying each and every day :)

I started a My Heritage site for Adam's family, his mother was a Miller and you can probably guess there are a lot of them! So far I've gotten his immediate family posted (which is over 90 people! No easy feat!) and about 20 people get the weekly email updates. It was a easy way for me to get to know his family and also gave something to them that they haven't before. I've tried encouraging people to post their own little family story/blog updates but it really hasn't happened, but we'll see :)
