Project 31, Day 2

Lots of things make me unique …

• The family I come from
• The family I’m creating with my husband
• The songs I sing to Jemma, I’ll have to share a video soon of our favorite one, “Bundle of Love”
• The 1,000 craft ideas I keep in my head
• My name, I don’t know very many Gretchens
• I’m left-handed
• I never stop learning – my latest interests are all about natural parenting, but I’ve also had flings with WWII, twenty-something meltdowns, storm chasing, murder mysteries and pioneers
• I used to say I was born in the wrong century because I hated wearing jeans as a child, twirly dresses were my preference
• Dominic and I used to watch CSI together, but since Jemma I can’t – too gruesome … my maternal instinct kicks in and I get so upset thinking “That is someone’s daughter/son” about the victim or bad guy
• Jemma and I share October birthdays which makes it so fun to compare our weight/height at different times since we are tracking together
• I’m named after my Grammy Rose, who was Swiss, which is why I have dark hair (or at least that’s why I say I have dark hair … it’s because I’m Swiss)

Honestly, some days I feel like every other mom who is juggling life, family, work, etcetera, etcetera, etcetera (said in that King and I voice). But, I suppose that sameness allows us to lend alot of support to one another and encourage each other in our individual uniqueness.
