These moments

photo by Amanda May Portrait Art

Today I had success.

My girl and I laughed together. She is learning to be silly and I cherish the moments where laughter fills the space in my home. She plays peekaboo. She blows zerberts. She looks at me with her sweet, toothy grin and I know everything in our world is right.

A few moments ago, I rocked my tired girl to sleep. She nuzzled her head into my shoulder and we felt love. Her head and my shoulder are the perfect puzzle. We fit just right. I hope her 10 year old head fits on my shoulder just as well as her 10 month old head does. The way this love feels is like no other. Nothing can explain it. Nothing can replace it.

I’m proud to be here mama. Every moment we are together, I’m blessed.

Hi there, These words brought a tear to my eye – as it's exactly what I'm experiencing with my 10 month old (born 2nd Oct:) Each and every moment is so incredibly precious – all the laughs, cuddles, smiles and kisses. And yes we also share jokes and laugh together! It often happens when we are having cuddles on our bed before a nap and I will make a noise which Lola will mimic and then after doing it back and fourth several times we both burst out laughing! Or when Mm husband and I are laughing at something funny, Lola joins in! Like you said all is right in the world when this happens :)Lola turning the pages of a book melts my heart. It seems like just yesterday she was in my belly and now she is walking! When she started walking I was so excited but also felt this strange feeling of sadness wash over me. Oh no she is growing up so quickly I thought! I often say to Lola – "There is one rule I insist be obeyed while in this house. No growing up. Stop this very instant". It is from the movie Hook and Lola alwyas laughs when I say it :)I enjoy reading your posts as our daughters are exactly the same age. Keep em' coming. Sending love from Australia.Ash xx

Ok, first off, I couldn't help but read your conversation with Aussie Ash about your girls being pen pals. I had a pen pal when I was a kid. I loved it! Too fun. Also, I love that you cherish snuggling with Jemma still. The way you described that in your blog gave me such a beautiful visual. It just warms my heart. I often think as I cuddle my baby Casey that I know he feels loved. That's the best thing we can offer our children. xoxo!
