Eating books and other things Jemma likes to do on the daily

Jem is on the brink of turning 6 months old. I can’t believe it.

She has also hit a new mental leap according to The Wonder Weeks! Week 26 of a baby’s life brings about a new concept – distance relationships. Jemma can now perceive how far away I am from her, when a toy is underneath something … or on something, or in something. Pretty much, she is brilliant :) And yes, I am a little biased. But seriously, when I leave the room, girl will squak up a storm! If I keep talking to her, she stays content for a little while – like she knows I am there, just not in sight. Brilliance, I tell ya!

Books are also a big part of this mental leap. As you can see … she loves to read them. And eat them. But, whatev. At least she is gaining a positive association with books :)

Last, but not least, Week 26 means movement. No crawling yet, but she sure scoots around. Rolling from back to tummy, moving backwards and spinning in circles. Jemma is on the move and I don’t think she’s going to slow down anytime soon! I have tasked Dominic to begin the baby proofing. What recommendations do you have? Our downstairs is a wide open space so we’ve got to cover kitchen, dining and living room space … I don’t even know where to begin!

Maybe I should just keep her on one of those fancy leases :)
