Segal’s Outcome

Yesterday we drove out to Beaverton to check out the highly recommended baby store, Segal’s. They had an amazing showroom of nursery furniture, bedding, supplies, clothes, strollers, and our sought after item … carseats.

We got a great amount of info on Graco, Peg Perego, and Chicco carseats. These have been our focus since they are the brands that fit into the UppaBaby stroller.

We’ve decided to either go with Graco or Chicco. They both come in gender neutral colors, fit our price range, and are rated high in safety. Come to find out, the Graco SnugRide 32 is being discontinued and a SnugRide 35 is replacing it. The gal we spoke with had a good point … “What mama actually carries around a carseat and 35 pound child?” By the time they reach that 20-30 pound range most parents take them out of the carseat and sit them in the stroller seat or wrap them in a baby carrier. Some folks opt for the SnugRide 35 since it can stay rear-facing, but the gal at Segal’s said many of the post-infant carseats have a rear-facing option as well so we’re not giving that up by going with the regular SnugRide. All that to say, unless I have some carseat revelation (or inspiring insight from you) I think we’ve narrowed our carseat choice to two models and a few different color combos:

Let me know if you have researched or used either of these. I’d love to know your thoughts!
Best part is, since they are black and gray/tan we can match any of the UppaBaby stroller colors. I’m still crossing my fingers for an eBay or Craigslist steal. Segal’s had an UppaBaby to test drive and we were again amazed by the add-ons for a second and third child. It’s pretty much the coolest stroller on the planet. Even Dominic agrees!

Glad it's you having the baby! Too many choices and decisions for me….I think with you, Dad and I had the same tan newborn "bucket" that everyone else had. And to think Grammy just held me in her arms while Poppa drove home from the hospital:)
