Jem and I went on a girl date with some friends to paint pottery the other week and on our way back to the car she insisted that we take a few photos of each other because “we don’t have boys to wrestle”. She was SO right. Going out with just an almost eight year old is very different than adventures with the entire crew!
Our morning out is definitely one of my favorite things as of late. But, since it’s no as easy to recreate that magic, here’s a few other things I’m on my favorite radar …
ONE — This fun toy is joining our play room in honor of Eli’s 1st birthday. We had a chance to try it out at a recent play date and it happily engaged all my kids for quite some time. Nothing like taking ice cream orders and “scooping” your heart out!
TWO — Pretty in love with this backpack diaper bag. ^^^ See it in action above ^^^ It’s the Kenneth by Soho Designs and you just can’t beat the price. In fact, all the Soho bags are under $50! It is super comfortable to wear, comes with stroller straps, AND the mini top pocket couldn’t be more perfect. I love having a quick spot to drop and zip up my keys and phone. No more searching in the abyss for those essentials! Soho Designs sent me the Tiffany Blue color, which, is far from my typical neutral, but I adore it – just the pop of color I need. I was worried about getting it dirty, but the marks I noticed after a few weeks of carrying it about wiped off without trouble. THREE — Last summer Jem and I watercolored off and on and we want to get back into it! This book by the amazing artist Katie Daisy and this YouTube channel have us all sorts of giddy to pull out our paints.
FOUR — Dominic bought me a Berkey water filter for our anniversary – don’t worry, this wasn’t like getting a home appliance as a gift, I asked for … no, begged for, one and he surprised me! I’m a big water drinker and never have I have had such delicious water. Love love love it.
FIVE — The prettiest memory game. And a close contender.
