Hello WellieWishers!

jem and willa

Jemma is officially a second generation fan of American Girl!

If you were an AG lover like me back in the 90s (Kirsten was my first!), you won’t recognize the doll Jemma is holding though. That’s because Willa is from a whole new line of dolls from American Girl called WellieWishers!

WellieWishers are geared towards girls in the 5-7 year old age bracket. The girls who may have grown out of Bitty Baby dolls but are not yet ready for the traditional BeForever and Truly Me American Girl dolls.

WellieWishers Dolls and Books Image-HRThey are as darling as they look and everything we’ve come to expect from the quality of American Girl over the years. At 14.5″ tall they’re smaller and practically perfect for little girls to snuggle, pose, and interact with. To say we’re in love with the WellieWishers crew is an understatement!

Last week Jemma and I were invited to the American Girl store north of Seattle to meet the five WellieWishers – Camille, Kendall, Willa, Emerson, and Ashlyn. This sweet group of girls wear rainboots — their wellies — as they adventure around Willa’s Aunt Miranda’s garden and practice being good friends. It’s their goal to help “kindness and friendship bloom” and the WellieWishers are setting a wonderful example for all the young girls who love them.

If you haven’t had a chance to visit an American Girl store, do! It’s a magical experience! Jemma and I had a lovely time dining in the cafe and after, we spent almost an hour strolling around visiting all the dolls, talking about her favorites, reminiscing about mine, and choosing her very first doll from American Girl — Willa the WellieWisher!

Currently, WellieWishers are available for order online and in stores. They have darling little clothes, coordinating accessories, and matching outfits in girl’s sizes too … including wellies! This Fall the first 3 books will debut as well as an animated show. Trust, we can’t wait for that!

Who of the WellieWishers is your favorite? Jemma has her eye on Ashlyn next and Max, in a moment of brotherly sweetness, has informed me that he would really like to surprise Jemma with Ashlyn for her birthday, “because Ashlyn is a princess just like my girl, Jem!” Ah! How sweet is that?!?

A huge thank you to American Girl for hosting us at this fun event and gifting Jemma her sweet Willa. We both love her!

This is so sweet! I went to the AG store with my younger sisters and was so jealous that I hadn’t gotten to go when I was their age! <3
