Today is a day for a very fine dessert recipe … pie parfaits!
Pause for a moment and think about all the holiday meals and gatherings you encounter throughout the year. After a big meal, everyone wants to sample all the delicious desserts, but honestly, is it possible to squeeze multiple pieces of pie into your belly? Probably not. Boo. So, how do you choose?
Well, that’s where pie parfaits with Marie Callender’s® Dessert Pies and Reddi-Wip® come in! It’s easy peasy to snack on two or three (or more!) varieties of pie when they’re served parfait style!
First things first, round up the pie variety you want to showcase in your pie parfaits. We had a hard time deciding while shopping at Walmart but finally landed on Razzleberry, Pumpkin and Souther Pecan. Cherry Crunch is next on this pregnant mamas “to eat” list :)
Mouthwatering, right?
So, since you obviously can’t gobble down three full-size slices of pie (or maybe you can, but shouldn’t) get ready to make a sampling all three possible with pie parfaits. First step, bake each pie according to the box directions.
Next, gather pretty little glasses or perhaps classy plastic cups if you’re serving up a big wave of parfaits and add a scoop of pie to each one. Add a layer of Reddi-Wip, then another scoop of pie. Finally, one last dollop of Reddi-Wip completes each parfait.
If you’re feeling jazzy go ahead and sprinkle the Reddi-Wop topping with a coordinating embellishment. Fresh berries, jam or bit of pie inside on Razzleberry; candied pecans or caramel on the Southern Pecan; and cinnamon on the Pumpkin.
Now, it’s time to dive in and enjoy the quantity of one slice of pie while enjoying the flavor of three! Brilliant! Best of all, this is the kind of dessert even a tired, pregnant mama can whip up in a flash. Or, heaven forbid I go into labor and leave Dominic with a potluck assignment, one he can easily manage on his own :)
