This weekend the kids and I rolled into Tacoma Mall bright and early for a very special event — BREAKFAST WITH SANTA! I didn’t tell them until the night before when we were settling into bed and you would have thought I told Max we were going to the moon! He was so excited to “weally see the big Santa!?!”
Breakfast With Santa was sponsored by the Kidgits program. For just $5 annually kids can join the Kidgits Club at any Simon Mall and receive a free t-shirt, membership card (which gives you great savings at many mall shops), and exclusive invites to great events. For Kidgits kids Breakfast With Santa was totally free – Panera bagels, fruit cups, juice, and hot cocoa. We also enjoyed fun crafts and of course, a holly jolly Santa … he was truly wonderful! Such a fun morning! After breakfast we decorated Christmas tree notebooks with glitter ornament stickers and made reindeer food (oatmeal and sprinkles!) to spread across our front lawns so they can easily find our home on Christmas Eve.
Max had grand plans to smile big for Santa and tell him all about the Christmas tree we cut down. Jemma planned to pass on the Santa visit and stay near me; she has always preferred to see Santa from a distance. In reality, they switched roles! Max hid behind the stroller and mustered up a wave as we left. Santa offered Jemma a candy cane in exchange for a quick conversation and she practically ran into his arms!
The mall was open early for holiday shopping so after breakfast we browsed our favorites – Nordstrom and Gap – before heading home. Our Christmas to do list is crazy busy between all the fun and baby prep so I’m super happy we could squeeze in this great morning with Santa. It was the perfect opportunity to see him in a no stress situation, enjoy a yummy breakfast, and relish in the Christmas atmosphere. We’ll be back next year for sure!
