Little Messes

Each and every day I wipe and scrub and sweep. So much. So so much. After myself, my husband and my kids. Mostly my kids. I’d say I have some of the messiest littles, but I know the crumbs and spills I encounter are just part of the 1 and 3 year old territory. We’re learning to be clean, though. Because as much as I don’t mind a little mess here and there, I’m doing my best to teach my children skills that will serve them well in the years to come.
Post-meals are our messiest times. Jemma has mastered silverware eating well and rarely spills these days. But Max? He’s a different story. Buddy likes to truly experience his meals – on his plate, tray, chin, forehead, belly – you name it. He appreciates forks too, but is obviously still learning. If I had to guess, I’d say 1/5 of his meal finds its way to the floor. I mean, just look at that photo above … so many crumbs and remnants of my delicious cooking!
Lest we decide to live in a pig pen, after meals, Jemma and Max take turns cleaning up with me. I count it as a little homeschooling lesson and they count it as pure fun :)

We recently had the opportunity to employ the Swiffer Sweep & Trap in our post-meal mayhem. It’s the perfect alternative to a broom and does a heck of a job when it comes to picking up dry messes on hard floors. The Swiffer Sweep & Trap uses rotating blades to pick up large particles and flicks them into a dirt bin while the attached Swiffer Sweeper dry cloth traps dirt, dust and hair that brooms can leave behind. This innovative combination cleans up big and small messes in a single swipe, so you can embrace life’s little messes.
Through 2/28/14 you can save $2 on the Swiffer Sweep & Trap Starter Kit at Target.com – use code TGTBBAGU. Woohoo! We’re loving our Sweep & Trap and if you’ve got little ones who make  meal time messes a habit, then you’ll love it too!

My girls are OBSESSED with the Swiffer. I think they think it's a toy.

What you need is a furry baby ;) with dogs we never worry about dropped food.. Though the stiffer would be a big help for the lick marks, lol.
