More Green in Twenty Fourteen + A GIVEAWAY!

I’m so excited to partner with REPREVE in this sponsored post and share with you how to #TurnItGreen!
Each year I take a few more steps in becoming more green. I’m a slow changer, it takes awhile for me to introduce new habits … and keep them. But growing in my greenness, or at least the awareness of my impact on the Earth, has been a consistent change I’ve been building upon in the last few years.
As I delve more and more into the green community (learning to make my own household items with ingredients I understand, purchasing more sustainable products and eating more whole, local foods) I’m constantly amazed at the companies that are making great strides in reducing, reusing and recycling.
Most recently I was introduced to REPREVE. And let me tell you, they’re making waves! REPREVE gives the Earth reprieve. It’s a recycled fiber made from sustainably processed plastic water bottles that are then made into recycled products. Pretty amazing, right? See the little logo at the bottom of this neat infographic? If you’ve ever seen it on something you’ve purchased that means it’s REPREVE! Watch for it!

Click here to find out what products REPREVE is in! I  bet you’ll be surprised by some that you already own and perhaps some that you’ll be more drawn to purchase now.
If it’s one of your goals to become more green in 2014 take a moment to visit REPREVE and then leave a comment sharing one of your #TurnItGreen goals for the New Year! You’re comment is also one of the easy entries for the giveaway — a REPREVE beanie!
The luckiest plastic bottles get made into a recycled fleece beanie made from REPREVE. One REPREVE green beanie is made from 6 recycled plastic bottles! Pretty stinkin’ fabulous, huh? And a perfect winter accessory to style up these cold winter days!

we use plastic bags for garbage bags in our bathroom trash cans. but we need to be more intentional about using reusable bags for shopping, too.

I'm surprised and pleased that Ford uses Reprieve in their seating fabric. I'm less surprised, but equally impressed with Patagonia!

Recycling plastic bottles is great, but wouldn't it be great if we didn't create the garbage in the first place? My #turnitgreen goal is to not use a single plastic bottle this year, including water bottles and sodas.
