You know those weeks you where you start at zero? That’s me. I feel empty, just like my gas tank. Sad.
I’m trying to accomplish alot this week. Too much I’m sure. We’ve been away from home the last two weekends and are gone again this coming weekend so I’ve got to fit things in somewhere. I used to love going away for the weekend, now I am the definition of a homebody. Just give me a day in sweats with my cuddly girl and handsome husband … that couldn’t make me smile more.
Enough with the Monday blues … we had a wonderful weekend! On Friday, Jemma and I ventured to a baby/mama consignment sale. We found some fabulous treasures. Well, I found the treasures. Jemma napped in the Ergo :) My favorite finds included an adorable Hanna Andersson dress, a cloth teapot toy, a Puj bath tub and some maternity clothes to share with a friend/use with baby #2 … which is not currently expected :).
When we got home, Jemma and I tacked this …
5 loads of clean laundry ready to be folded |
Dominic got home from work, we decided on Chipotle for dinner (our new favorite) and went to small group. After, we drove north to my parents for the rest of the weekend.
On Saturday, my mom, Jemma and I hit up Costco. That darn place kills my grocery budget every month. Later on, we checked out Gap because of this fabulous coupon! My mom had a coupon too and all tops were 30% off which gave us 4 cardigans and 2 t’s for only $11.60. I heart sale/coupon combos. Like, really heart them.
I got pampered with a 90 minute aromatherapy massage on Sunday (thanks to my mom and another coupon). I can still smell the rosemary mint …
Sunday afternoon we drove home and had Dominic’s parents and Jemma’s Aunt Tasha and cousin Karrington over for dinner and catching up (Tasha and Karrington are visiting from Texas). We made plans to take the girls to the zoo during their trip this summer! Karrington is growing like crazy and I can only imagine how rambunctious Jemma will be at 18 months. Just this month she has accomplished new feats and well, some not other so great skills …
- Riding in our Kelty backpack – such a big, happy girl when she can see everything
- Laughing during peek-a-boo – the sweetest thing
- A 7 day stretch with no poo – this was plain ol’ tragic
- First shower – you guessed it, after a messy dipe
- Grabbing her toes while laying on her back – I’ve never seen someone so excited about their toes
- Tasted a carrot – Jemma’s Mimi is SO EXCITED for Jem to eat, we were making soup and Jemma made a teether out of a cold carrot
- Bit Mama while nursing – awfulness, I pinched her little nose and she hasn’t tried this new skill again, hopefully never
- Drinking an entire 2 ounces from her sippy cup while I’m at work – this couldn’t make me happier, she’s done this for almost 2 weeks!
Other than my boring to-do list, not much is on the radar this week. My fabulous husband is making my favorite grilled sandwich for dinner … apple and havarti on rustic bread. Some morning this week I’ll be stopped at the hospital to donate my lipase milk. After all the woes of pumping and discovering I have excess lipase, the process of donating has been very healing. I have more to share on this, but this is enough for today.
What’s your best advice for surviving the Monday Blues? Even more, how do you make it through Tuesday when your energy tank is now in the negatives???

The case of the mondays has been going around. Mine was pretty tough too. I'm praying that both of our weeks get better!

My Monday was sucky too. My 1st one bit me ALL THE TIME. I would stop nursing when she bit and she still continued to do it. I weaned her early on account of that. She would bite, I would jump and scream, she would cry…it was a pretty awful cycle. Now, my 2nd did it once and never did it again. We made it until 14 months when she self weaned.
