I want to thank Yoplait for sponsoring this #TasteOff, but I promise, the outcome documented below is as honest and true as things come.
Greek yogurt is a staple around here. It packs a punch when it comes to protein and is my go to snack, mini lunch and/or dessert on any given day. So when the kids and I had the opportunity to have a taste off between two Greek yogurt brands I was totally in!
So – who were the contenders? For lunch today we matched up Yoplait Greek Blueberry and Chobani Blueberry Fruit on the Bottom. Jemma has been obsessed with blueberries lately so she was thrilled to dive into her “bwue wunch” complete with two Greek yogurt choices and a pile of blueberries.
I explained the details of a #TasteOff – that we would be taking bites of each yogurt and assessing the taste, thickness, sweetness and texture to determine our favorite. I said it would be like an experiment and she got to be the main scientist :)
This sparked many questions … have you ever tried to explain words like “texture” to a 3 year old? It takes some creativity to say the least! I’m thinking I need to start carrying a dictionary for reference. But favorite? Jemma knows all about favorites and constantly tells me things like “this is my favorite favorite favorite of my whole heart!” when referencing her top library picks, cookies and all things Frozen.
And today, we learned that Yoplait Greek Blueberry is the favorite of her heart :) Max agrees. Although he doesn’t say “favorite” yet. He just chants “bite bite bite” in increasing volume.
Now, I’ll admit, I’m usually a Chobani fan. It was the first Greek yogurt I tried years ago and I’m kind of a sucker when it comes to brand loyalty. Because, why mess with a good thing? I’ve always liked the tartness of Greek yogurt and Chobani is definitely more tart. But, on the flip side I’ve never liked mixing the fruit myself and when compared to the creamy, thick Yoplait, Chobani seems thin.
So, where does that put me between the two? My vote goes to Yoplait! I loved the thickness, blended fruit and with this coupon, the price can’t be beat either! Look for Yoplait Greek Blueberry at your local grocery store – it comes in coconut, pineapple, strawberry raspberry, vanilla, tangerine, cherry, raspberry and strawberry too! Something for everyone!
Want to stray from your usual Greek yogurt purchase and join me in the Yoplait #TasteOff? Not only was I surprised, and happy, with the results, it was a really great learning opportunity for Jemma! Will Yoplait or Chobani be the favorite of your whole heart? Take the #TasteOff with me and share your results!
