This Place Is Home

The keys. They are in our hands and everything is official. This place is home!
We met our realtor at the house on Friday evening for the key hand off and celebrated with scrumptious wood fire pizza from a food truck around the corner. I’m officially obsessed with one of the pizzas – white sauce, mozarella, feta, olives, red onions and cashews! Ohmygoodness … feed. me. more. Jemma has loved running around our new digs. Up and down the stairs, peeking in all the closets and taking her bike on an inaugural loop around the cul-de-sac. It was a dream of mine to live on a cul-de-sac as a kid and now it’s coming true for my babies. Yay! Jem keeps asking me where the toys and chairs are. The answer is “coming soon, mama is in mega packing mode”. Max has already managed to eat and poo during our brief visit so he’s obviously feeling at home.

Ready for the tour of our empty house? This is the cleanest it will ever be :)

Dining Room | Many a celebration will occur here, I can’t wait!
When we were planning to build I was super overwhelmed by exterior paint colors, luckily I’m pretty happy with the neutral palette here
Behind this door is Jemma & Max’s understair play cubby – it’s going to be magical!
The den, bonus room and master all have this inset ceiling detail – LOVE!

Master bath tub for mama and future waterbirth? Maybe!
The big move is happening this weekend with a crew of family and friends. I’m excited to empty our storage unit and unearth our things that have been tucked away for so long. This home is much bigger than we ever intended or have lived in before so we’ll slowly be piecing together each room. Dominic is going to be building a number of pieces and repairing some of my thrifted finds … we’re even starting to scheme about a homemade dining table similar to the dreamy one Ruthy and her husband built. It feels so right to be settling into a long-term home with my little family of four. This is the 8th move I’ve made since Dominic and I were engaged in 2007 so it’s definitely time!

Super cute! I'm jealous of that tub. I thought we were going to upgrade ours a few months ago for my {almost too soon} birth but to install a new tub where the old one was would be around $2000. so don't, for a second, take that tub for granted ;)

I adore the palette that you chose! I'm a huge fan of using accessories and art to add color and personality to a space, rather than wall color. Except for my bedroom, which is a dark purple…anyways. I am so excited for you guys!! Enjoy your new home! <3

That would be fabulous! Dominic just bought a table saw this weekend as a little "welcome to the new house" present for himself. I have a whole list of projects for him, lol! I'll let you know when we narrow down table plans and maybe we can have you guys over to scheme a bit!

I'll have to snap a pic of the backyard — it has grass, but we'll hopefully add a fence and some raised garden beds in the near future. Maybe this summer if we're lucky!
