Recycle Your Nursing Bra With Bras2Moms

Bras are expensive, and nursing bras are no exception. Although it might not be the most fun lingerie shopping trip, having a properly fitting nursing bra is key to breastfeeding success. Can I get a hearty “Amen!”? To small and a mama risks plugged ducts and other complications, to loose and the lack of support can be both uncomfortable and cause a strain on a mama’s back and neck. So, what if you are a new mama and can’t afford a properly fitting nursing bra?
That was the question Emily Gorschels asked prior to launching her non-profit, Bras2Moms. “Bras2Moms exists so that no mom becomes discouraged with or stops breastfeeding because she cannot afford a nursing bra.” What a wonderful mission!
Bras2Moms is located in Vancouver, WA and currently accepts donations of gently used or new nursing bras and tanks at a number of area locations. Then, on announced days and times a local shop opens their doors for bra fittings. They fit and bless mamas in need with a simple token of breastfeeding support – a properly fitting nursing bra or tank. It’s a small gift that can make a big difference!
Want to get on board with this amazing project? Mail your gently used nursing bras or tanks to: Sante Mama, 113 Northeast 92nd Avenue, Vancouver, WA 98664

Or, feel free to drop them off in person if you are in the area! Don’t have any nursing bras lying around – check out Bras2Moms volunteer page to learn about other ways to contribute to this fabulous organization. You don’t have to be in the Vancouver area to jump on board, send a financial donation or gather administrative supplies needed to keep Bras2Moms up and running.
Last but not least, like Bras2Moms on Facebook and spread the word! Nursing bras are a necessity for breastfeeding mamas and together we can play a small role in helping many mamas reach their breastfeeding goals.
