Last Christmas there was quite a buzz about Small Business Saturday, a campaign in many towns encouraging families to support small businesses when it came to gift giving. My mom and I wholeheartedly participated in our downtown shopping area and Jemma, of course, was the biggest benefactor :)
Ever since, I’ve made it a goal to be more mindful of where I spend my money; especially when it comes to gifts. Shopping at small businesses whether a brick-and-mortar, online via Etsy, or at the Farmer’s Market not only makes for a more personal gift, it also positively impacts my local community and individual families who thrive on the success of their businesses.
Over the last few weeks I’ve been working with a swarm of fabulous ladies who will be featuring their shops and products here! Many are WAHM and creative inspirations. Each have their own niche and style. Some have incredibly touching stories of what their profits support. I can’t wait to introduce them and the best part, it’s all about babies! It’s going to be a baby gift-giving extravaganza around here!
Just like I learned at Christmas, every holiday and milestone is a great opportunity to put your dollars into small businesses, and baby showers are no exception. Stay tuned for …
I’ll be featuring everything from a diaper bag to cloth diapers to the most beautiful toys especially for your children. Of course, there will be a mix of giveaways and discount codes too! And, if you’re anything like me, you know a ton of babies being born in the next few months … I hope this feature will help guide your purchases as you shop for unique gifts from small businesses online or in your community.
If you’re a lover of small businesses too I’d love for you to write your own post on this topic and feel free to snag this nifty button showing your small business support! Feel free to mention my upcoming feature as well … the more the merrier!
