Baby K’tan Review

Early in my pregnancy I began researching babywearing options. I was a bit hesitant to jump into this territory of motherhood, but was soon swept away by all the benefits. One carrier I researched was the Baby K’tan. This company was started by 2 couples who couldn’t find the perfect carrier on the market … so, they decided to create their own and I am so glad they did!
The Baby K’tan is different than other wraps and carriers in a number of ways:
  • 7+ wearing positions for babies 8-35 pounds
  • Simple to put on and take off with the double loop design
  • Size specific for a perfect, safe fit
When Jemma was born I had a total of 3 carrier. Yes, I suppose I went a bit crazy, but I was intent on being a babywearing mama and wanted to have lots of choices :) For some reason the Baby K’tan was the last one I tried; I think because I was the first of my mama friends to give it a try. Each carrier has a manual and it takes a little dedication to learn how to safely wear each one and when you are sleep deprived and have a wiggly baby, new things are a bit daunting. Now I am kicking myself … why on earth did I wait almost a month to strap on the Baby K’tan! As soon as I slipped the two loops over my neck and followed the easy steps I was hooked! For one, I love the organic cloth it is made of, literally the softest thing ever and such a beautiful honey color. More than the aesthetics I am in love with the ease of this wrap. It is by far the most simple to put on and it fits like a glove. I have learned my favorite position, the hug position, and can whip it on, secure Jemma and go about my day in a matter of 1 minute – no kidding. From my experience with 3 popular baby carriers I would HIGHLY encourage parents to invest in the Baby K’tan as their primary babywearing option.

Here’s a fantastic video from Baby K’tan’s website showing just how easy it is …

See what I mean, super easy!

As I mentioned, one of the benefits of the Baby K’tan is the sizing feature. When ordering, you follow their sizing chart to determine which size will fit you best. This allows the wearer to get a snug and safe fit for their little one. Even though this is one of my favorite features, being size specific makes it a bit expensive if you and your spouse are different sizes. The two other carriers we have can be adjusted so my husband or I could wear them, kind of like a buy one, get one. With the Baby K’tan only I (or someone my size) can wear it. So, if we wanted to be a 100% Baby K’tan family we would need to purchase a second K’tan in my husband’s size. I would love it if Baby K’tan offered a discount for families who order more than one carrier so both my husband and I could partake in the Baby K’tan awesomeness!

Whether you are looking for a spiffy Christmas gift or a present for a mama-to-be I would hands-down point you in the direction of Baby K’tan. Shoot, if you are a new mama and you don’t get one as a gift … order one for yourself. I’m not joking. This is a must! Silly me, why am I thinking of mamas only? Husbands, aunties, grandparents … everyone could benefit. And when family sees how easy the K’tan is I bet you’ll have no trouble finding babysitters :) Just another perk to look forward too!

Baby K’tan offered me a blogger special so I was able to purchase my K’tan at a discounted price in order to write this review. Even though I was blessed with such a great deal, my opinion is my own. I truly feel the Baby K’tan is the best option on the market. Tired mamas need ease, comfort and safety … Baby K’tan has it all!
